Maybe there have been times in your life when you have done it tough! We believe that God loves us to reach out to people who are broken, homeless, addicted, or just need help. James 1:21 says "Real religion is to look after orphans and widows, the down and out, the addicts and those who can't help themselves."
At Set Free Care this is done practically. What sets us apart from some charities is that we also present the gospel of grace on Tuesdays and Thursdays, when we run our free lunch from our base in Southport between 11am - 1pm. For many this is the first time they hear about God's love and His amazing grace and is the first step in their road to salvation.
Set Free Care began in 1997 and fed 5-10 people per week. We now feed and minister to 150-200people a day twice a week.
People who struggle below the poverty line for whatever reason are given food, but also the opportunity to change their lives for good.
Our Op Shop is a place for people to not just buy second clothes, but also to have someone lending a listening ear and to receive encouragement.
Other goals for Set Free Care are to have a Discipleship Farm to accommodate more who want to change their lives through God's Word; retail shops to offer employment to these who successfully manage the transition back to mainstream society and ongoing support through Set Free Church for all who have needs that require continuing ministry.
